"I installed Diskeeper on four systems with the following configurations and uses.
1) Dell R610 server with a 5TB i-SCSI Dell MD-3000i storage array. The array is broken up into several volumes: 2TB (RAID-6) for developer data, 2TB (RAID-5) for library data, and 1TB (Mirror) for development and test databases.
a. Before installing Diskeeper on the fileserver I had to defragment the volume every few weeks.
b. After installing Diskeeper the database and daily use developer volumes were automatically defragmented within a few hours and the IntelliWrite feature has kept the database volume free of fragmentation. The databases are also responding quicker to queries during software testing.
2) Dell R710 with 6TB of internal storage (2 TB Mirror and 3TB RAID-5). This system is used as a digital recorder. It simultaneously records up to 72 digital channels which heavily fragments the data drive storing the recordings.
a. Without Diskeeper the data volume was so heavily fragmented that the team could not maintain a defragmented the drive with the tools include with windows. The users experienced hesitation when playing back the recording when the system was under heavy load.
b. After installing Diskeeper, the data drive was automatically defragmented after a couple of days and the payback streams are smoother.
3) Dell R710 with 3TB internal storage and 5TB external Storage via MD3000i i-SCSI SAN. This server is used to store user home directories, profiles, and backups.
a. Before installing Diskeeper the 5TB backup volume was heavily fragmented impacting write performance for larger files.
b. After installing Diskeeper the backup volume was completely defragmented by Auto Defrag and IntelliWrite, improving write performance on the volume based on backup times.
4) Dell R710 with 6TB internal Storage and 20TB (RAID-5) storage via MD3200i i-SCSI SAN. This system is used as a large digital recorder, recording up to 246 channels simultaneously.The major benefit is the full time Automatic Defrag which is keeping up with all this activity.

"We are utilizing Diskeeper's Instant Defrag. We actually have it running on a server connected to an array of 17 Disks which we use for backups. Diskeeper really helps us keeping that box defragmented so that our nightly backups run smoothly.
The problems we were having prior to deploying Diskeeper were these: We had moved our backups from tape to an attached disk unit. This unit was about 1.5TB in size. Backups would fail due to fragmentation of the new disk and I was unable to keep the disk defragmented with either the Windows built-in utility or even some of the free disk defragmenters I found.
The Syncsort technician, our backup vendor, suggested we try Diskeeper. Because the Automatic defrag is always running in the background it was able to keep up with the heavy fragmentation happening to the disk and our backups stopped failing. "We use Diskeeper and Undelete in our current environment. Undelete has saved several documents that otherwise would have taken hours to recreate. We're running Diskeeper on all servers, and Undelete on our DMS (Document Repository Servers) and File Print Servers.
We don't run servers or Windows 7 workstations without Diskeeper, and system performance has increased. When I'm helping clients that don't have Diskeeper deployed, performing a defrag always improves the client experience. The "Set It and Forget It" feature as implemented on the servers are the best value. Diskeeper has been transparent, so I don't even realize it's running until I check the eventlogs.

"Diskeeper is great. Our biggest reason for poor performance was fragmentation. Diskeeper is completely transparent to the users, running automatically in the background and it does a great job.
There is without a doubt a big difference in performance after you have defragmented the hard drive. I recommend the Auto Defrag to others especially if they are still using Windows XP. The defrag in Win XP is worthless. The Windows 7 defragger is better but Diskeeper is far better. Diskeeper has more options and gives you much more information, the best thing being the IntelliWrite technology.
We have absolutely seen performance and reliability improvements. Diskeeper has completely done away with trouble calls for slow performance that were attributed to heavily fragmented drives.

"The difference is night and day between a drive that has Diskeeper installed and one that does not.
We use Diskeeper on a variety of platforms and machines. If we don’t defrag, everything comes to screeching halt. We have used Diskeeper on RAID5, RAID0, and on SANs. When we used the SANs for data storage for a file server, we had customers complaining all the time about performance. Once we used Diskeeper on the SANs and cleaned up the fragments, all the complaints went away.
One SAN is now a 4TB box used for data storage for our VMware environment. The VM machines all have Diskeeper on them because the apps run faster when the VM is defragmented; each machine is a file that is created to full size when the machine is built. My personal view is that if there are fragments, defragmenting is needed.
We do have Diskeeper on VM machines that are stored on an EqualLogic SAN box. We also have an HP SAN used as a File Server; Diskeeper kept that SAN clear of fragments and it works very well.
Automatic Defrag is why we purchased this product. If it were not for that feature, I might as well have kept the built-in Windows version of your product. It is ideal for allowing the Diskeeper functionality to be turned off during peak times of server usage and turned on during slower times. I don’t know of any other product that offers the ease of scheduling that this product includes. We use differing schedules on different servers and Diskeeper works perfectly. "

"V-locity is a cool product that is transparent on the systems. I’m pleased with the results. I run it on my virtual guests with 32% improvement for the read write access, and 29% on the server.
We have Diskeeper with IntelliWrite deployed to about 30 servers. We have used Diskeeper for 8 years or so and we have older servers that are still functioning well.
You can glean good info on the system via the GUI frag prevention graph and idle resources used by Diskeeper,which can and will be great for the server environment as well as virtual machines.
Diskeeper is a pretty cool product. I have tried several others and still go back to Diskeeper.
