Slow Internet Speed – Why my Internet so slow?
The truth is we like things fast: fast cars, fast
food, and most definitely fast computers. That’s why it can be so frustrating when
something as simple as checking your email or browsing the web seems to be so much
slower than it once was.
Sometimes speeding
up your Internet can simply be a matter of changing your service plan or your provider
— but if it was once fast, that is not likely the problem.
The problem is, every time you surf the Internet your web browser creates what is
called a cache. It stores graphics, web pages, etc. from the Internet onto your
computer's hard drive temporarily. The more files you write, delete, and rewrite
onto your hard drive, the more fragmented or scattered your files become.
As a result, when you surf the web, your hard drive becomes increasingly fragmented
— resulting in slow Internet speeds.

slow Internet fast again.
Tips for keeping your PC files clean and organized
It’s also very important to clean up or organize your computer system. Windows is
one of the most powerful operating systems on the market, but in order to run as
fast as it does, it basically stores files everywhere.
There are a lot of temporary files and images that get left on your computer after
installing programs and browsing the web. So, it’s important to get those cleaned
out. Windows actually comes standard with a disk clean-up utility that will delete
those temporary Internet files, empty your recycle bin and help you to get rid of
those files that really aren’t needed, anymore.
Just go to Start > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup
to use the built-in disk clean-up tool.
Temporary Internet files can use up maybe 20% of your hard drive by just caching
the files that you use when you go on the Internet. Most people think that when
we browse the web, we’re looking at one page and okay, that page can be put on our
hard drive so we can view it.
In actuality, that page can be hundreds or many hundreds of little, bitty files
and little, bitty images that get stored on our hard drive. We don’t need to keep
all that stuff around, do we? Without Diskeeper, every website you visit, every
file you save, and every program you install will be adding more fragmented files
to your PC affecting not only your Internet speeds, but your overall PC performance.
Try Diskeeper for yourself and you will quickly see how much faster you are able
to browse the Internet!
"I like the Efficient Mode because no matter how many files I downloaded from the
internet it seemed to take less space on my hard disk than I would have expected.
The files are defragmented and packed together tighter. It was like having more
disk space!"
