Hello,
We haven’t seen this behavior from Diskeeper 2011. So this will require some trouble-shooting.
First off we would like you to uninstall Diskeeper and then reinstall in what we call a clean boot.
Start your computer into a ‘selective startup’ mode to ensure that any other services running are not hindering the Diskeeper installation. This is how you do this:
Go to
Start >
Runtype
msconfigSelect the
SELECTIVE STARTUP. (Uncheck the Load Startup Items Checkbox)
Click on the
SERVICES tab.
Check the
HIDE ALL MICROSOFT SERVICES.
Click on the
DISABLE ALL button in the bottom right.
Click
APPLY,
Then
OK, followed by a restart of your computer.
When the PC is booted completely find the Diskeeper installation and install Diskeeper.
Then to get the computer back to a normal startup configuration you simply launch MSCONFIG again and put the Dot back in Normal Startup, Click apply and then OK and let the PC reboot. All software will be enabled at startup at this point and back to normal.
Next is long part. Go in and disable each feature one by one and then test to see if you still get the error message.
So it will go like this:
Disable I-FAAST, then do a shutdown.
Check for error message you have been getting during shutdown.
Disable the next item, then do a shutdown.
Check for error message you have been getting during shutdown.
Etc.
Below is special instructions on how to shut down the I-FAAST measurement. Please start with I-FAAST, then the I-FAAST Measurement, then all other features one by one.
Disabling the I-FAAST Measurement in Diskeeper
To disable the I-FAAST measurement in Diskeeper, you will need to add a new DWORD value to the
Diskeeper registry key. The DWORD value is named IfaastMeasDisabled and is located in the following
registry key.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Diskeeper Corporation\Diskeeper
The setting of this DWORD value must be set to 1
To add this new value in the registry and set it correctly:
1. Select Start – Run
2. Type regedit followed by <Enter>
3. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Diskeeper Corporation\Diskeeper
4. Select Edit – New – DWORD Value
5. Enter IfaastMeasDisabled and double-click on the registry key.
6. Type 1 for the value followed <Enter >
7. Close out the registry entry screen and select Start – Run
8. Type cmd followed by <Enter>
9. Enter net stop diskeeper followed by net start diskeeper to restart the Diskeeper service.
I-FAAST measurement will now be disabled in Diskeeper.
The report back on what feature when disabled stops the error.
I know this seems pretty extensive, but since we have not seen this before, this is what is needed to narrow this down.
